How to Fix Stretched Spectra Images in WordPress 6.7
Are you noticing your images stretching after updating to WordPress 6.7? Don’t worry! This isn’t a bug but a new feature introduced by WordPress in the version 6.7 to improve how lazy-loaded images are rendered.
This document will guide you through what’s happening and how to fix it so your images look perfect again.
What’s Happening to the Images?
In WordPress 6.7, lazy-loaded images are automatically assigned an “auto” size. While this is intended to optimize performance, it can sometimes cause images to stretch and lose their original aspect ratio.
Why Are Images Stretching?
The WordPress 6.7 update introduced auto-sizes for lazy-loaded images, aimed at optimizing performance and enhancing rendering. However, this change requires some updates to ensure compatibility with Spectra’s image blocks.
For more details, check out the official WordPress release: Auto Sizes for Lazy-Loaded Images in WordPress 6.
How to Fix Stretched Images?
You can easily adjust your images using the following methods:
Option 1: Disable Lazy Loading for Spectra Image Blocks
Lazy loading can be turned off for individual image blocks in Spectra. This prevents WordPress from applying auto-sizing, maintaining the original dimensions.
Option 2: Set a Fixed Height for Your Images
Assigning a fixed height to your images ensures they retain their proper aspect ratio, even with the new lazy-loading behavior. Spectra already provides this option in the block settings.
