Introducing Spectra 2.4.0 🎉

We’ve been working hard to bring you some incredible new features, improved performance, and a whole bunch of stability improvements.

So, what’s new in v2.4.0?

Let’s start with the new blocks.

Countdown block

First up, we’ve got the Countdown block.

If you’re looking to create a sense of urgency, this new block is just what you need.

The Countdown block is great for generating hype and creating a sense of FOMO amongst your audience.

Nothing encourages conversion like a fear of missing out!

Icon block

Second, we created a new Icon block. It enables you to add FontAwesome icons to increase engagement on posts and pages.

It comes with a suite of styling options to make them fit seamlessly into your design while making a statement.

You can customize the size, color, and position of the icon, and even add a background shape.

With more than 1,500 icons to choose from, you’re sure to find the perfect one for your needs!

New Lightbox feature for the Image Gallery block

We’ve also added a new Lightbox feature to the Image Gallery block. It has a range of features to help you show off images, video or rich media in style.

Lightbox is one of the best things to happen to images on the web. You can now use it to promote your content using Spectra.

As with all Spectra blocks, you can customize it to fit into your design and control how everything looks and feels.

Typography in Spectra

We’ve also made improvements to the typography options in Spectra.

As typography is so important to design, we have added 3 new Google Fonts. Meet Fahkwang, Jost and the Zen dots font.

Watch out for more typography improvements in future updates!

There’s more

This update isn’t just about adding new features. It’s also about making existing features better.

In this case, better performance.

We have optimized the performance of all Spectra blocks. They should now load much faster, with fewer delays.

We’ve also improved the archive page speed. Visitors will be able to navigate your archive pages more quickly too.

Last but not least, we’ve optimized Spectra code to make it much more stable and more reliable than ever before!

We know how important performance is, which is why you’ll experience faster loading times and a smoother editing experience with this update.
